Yes, the boring basics.

I love Asian music and I criticize it. I have listened to Asian music ever since I was a child and I haven’t stopped since. It’s part of my culture and part of my life. It’s an art that I’ve come to appreciate as my other half (so if you’re ever wondering why I’m ranting, rambling, yea you’ll know why).

But why even bother with a blog devoted to musical criticism? Sorry, I’m a geek when it comes to music. But honestly, the Asian music scene is a unique art of its own that demands respect, and, unforunately, in all my years surfing the web, I have never found a site or blog that could give in-depth reviews to the music I love. So here I am, rambling on this blog about my passion; music.

This blog is whatever you take it to be. If I am your average music critic, so be it. If this ends up being an advice column to go and try a new group, sure, go right ahead. As long as there is courtesy and decency, I’m cool with it. As javabeans on dramabeans.com put it:

My underlying modus operandi: Just because it’s pop culture doesn’t mean discourse has to be shallow. I’d like to sustain a fun but hopefully also substantive level of conversation, mixed with some irreverence. Because it’s not worth it if it’s no fun.

If you have any suggestions to bands (whether they be underground or well known), soloists, songs, etc. I should listen to, drop a comment any time.

With that said, let the fun begin.
